piezobrush™ is a unique tool for the plasma pretreatment of various material surfaces at atmospheric pressure conditions. Inside the small, pen-shaped hand-held device, a noble gas plasma is generated by means of a piezo ceramic. The plasma is cold and potential-free, is highly efficient, and can be operated fast and easily at any hand-work place where needed. The power is supplied via a small 24V PSU.

piezobrush™ is ideal for all sorts of hand-work places, especially in the clean-room, to clean and activate substrates such as catheters made of polyamide, polypropylen or silicone before printing, bonding or siliconizing. Small numbers of also 3-D objects with thermoplastic, metallic, or glass surfaces can be prepared for subsequent process steps with this small and handy device.

Possible applications are in the watch industry, life science, in the electronics parts production, or for repair work (paint shop), for germfree cleaning or sterilization. A current medical survey is evaluating the effects of plasma to improve wound healing and treat chronic skin diseases.
